长期从事病毒发现与资源获取、蜱传病毒潜在感染致病风险调查与致病机制研究、出血热病毒感染与出血机制研究、蜱类携带病毒与传播分子机制及防治手段。鉴定发现古尔图病毒(GTV)等,揭示其潜在人或动物传播感染风险;解析对发热伴血小板减少综合征病毒(大别班大病毒SFTSV)的流行传播、遗传演化以及感染导致严重出血的致病机制,构建重要蜱传病毒与媒介蜱的细胞和活体感染模型,为研究蜱传病毒与蜱的“共生”和对宿主“致病”奠定了重要资源、技术和理论基础。
