致力于“病毒感染引发重度炎症的致病机制”研究,围绕严重威胁我国人民生命健康的出血热布尼亚病毒和新冠病毒,开展了一系列原创性研究,取得的代表性研究成果包括:①发现布尼亚病毒RVFV致病因子NSs蛋白组装形成纤维状泛素连接酶高分子复合体,高效靶向降解宿主转录因子复合物诱发转录抑制,进而激活细胞焦亡通路导致重度炎症;②发现布尼亚病毒SFTSV等感染诱发线粒体损伤及氧化应激,激活NLRP3炎症小体介导的细胞焦亡通路导致重度炎症的共性机制;③揭示新冠病毒RNA形成左手双螺旋RNA结构(Z-RNA),激活肺部程序性坏死与凋亡双重细胞死亡通路协同导致重度炎性肺损伤的机制。
